Hello Fellow Greeks & Romans!

The Classics Students' Society is an academic society at the U of C and our home is in the Greek and Roman Studies Department.  Our group, however, is not only for students who are pursuing the field academically.  We are also here for students who simply enjoy learning about Classical societies, such as Greece and Rome.

The Classics Society holds events that appeal to both these types of students. There are information sessions to assist you further in your studies as well as fun "non-academic" functions.

Furthermore, the current executive have all been students for at least four years and we are a great resource for any questions you may have about classes, professors, and papers; or we can direct you to someone who can help you.

Some of the events we have planned for this year:

  • Movie & Pizza Nights
  • Meet & Greets with other departments and faculty
  • Up Close with Roman Coins
  • Informational Lectures about current research in the field
  • History Day: With military re-enactments
  • Celebrations of Greek & Roman Festivals
  • Wine Tasting
  • Research Assistance Seminars
  • And More!

Hope to see you around!!
